The general process of loading, unloading, and maintenance of sea freight container flexitanks during sea transportation

Let's take a look at the general process of loading, unloading, and maintenance of flexitanks during maritime transportation. Before loading, the shipowner needs to inspect whether the cargo hold bilge wells, drainage system, ventilation system, cargo hold covers, and the ship's ballast water system are functioning properly according to the container securing plan. Any identified issues must be repaired before loading to ensure continued use. Strict supervision of the loading process is crucial to safeguard the shipowner's interests and ensure the quality of cargo transportation. Therefore, loading supervisors should choose appropriate observation points and maintain contact with professionals in case of any issues during loading to ensure timely resolution. Additionally, during special weather conditions such as nighttime or inclement weather, when visibility is poor, the importance of loading supervision cannot be overstated.

Compared to traditional tank containers, flexitanks can load more cargo, up to 40% more than the original container. This reduces the number of containers required, thereby saving money. Flexitanks can be equipped with a BULKHEAD, which acts as a heat preserver, capable of maintaining a maximum temperature of 80 degrees. This is ideal for liquids with temperature requirements, as it can keep these special liquids warm. This is something traditional tank containers cannot achieve. Flexitanks are very easy to operate, requiring only a few people and some pipes to complete the operation, while traditional IBCs and tank containers require dozens of workers to load. Secondly, they are also very easy to load and unload. Liquid can be loaded through a pipe from the top valve, and then released through a pipe from the bottom valve when necessary. In addition to the various cost-saving benefits mentioned above, the advantage of flexitanks lies in their low price. The calculated price is nearly half of the traditional method.

The condition of the container must meet the requirements of actual transportation by rail, road, and ocean. The container must be clean and dry, with a smooth interior, including the floor, and free from sources of contamination. Each door must be equipped with two intact and effective locks, and must not be deformed or damaged. Select 30-ton containers that are no more than 3 years old. The grooves on the inside of the container door must meet the requirements for the installation of flexitank door stops. When loading food cargo, special food containers must be used for picking up the containers.

The flexitank is a novel flexible packaging container capable of storing and transporting various non-hazardous liquid goods. Each container can be placed inside a 20-foot international standard container, with a capacity of 14-24 cubic meters, capable of storing up to 24,000 liters of liquid. It optimally utilizes the container transportation method, suitable for transportation by train, automobile, and ship. To some extent, it can replace expensive traditional packaging such as tank containers and iron drums, significantly reducing costs associated with loading, unloading, packaging, transportation, and material management.

Two specialized handlers should hold the corners of the liquid bag at both ends, keeping it horizontal, and slowly transfer it from the vehicle to the ground, directly to the storage location of the liquid bag. If necessary, other auxiliary tools can be used to facilitate the transfer. The container liquid bag is a new type of flexible packaging container capable of storing and transporting various non-hazardous liquid goods. It represents a new liquid transportation method, which has advantages over tank trucks. It can replace traditional packaging such as expensive tank containers and impractical ones for non-hazardous liquid transportation. The main features of the container liquid bag are: loading and unloading from the top, loading and unloading from the bottom, and loading and unloading from both top and bottom. Due to its strong economic advantages compared to traditional transportation packaging methods, it has been widely used in many fields. In the early days, it was mainly used for military transportation. After being put into commercial operation, the aesthetically pleasing container liquid bag has solved the transportation problem of bulk non-hazardous liquid goods.
